Alan C. Moon
Director, Chair of the Board

Alan Moon is a former senior executive with significant business experience both internationally and domestically, and brings to the board a strong and diversified business background. Mr. Moon, a professional engineer with an MBA, serves on the board of directors of a number of other public and private companies.

 

Anthony Makuch
Director, President and CEO

Anthony (Tony) Makuch joined Lake Shore Gold as President and CEO on March 1, 2008. He is a professional engineer (Ontario) with over 25 years of management, operations and technical experience in the mining industry, having managed numerous projects in Canada and the United States from advanced exploration through production. Between January 2006 and March 1, 2008, Mr. Makuch was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for FNX Mining Company Inc. From 1998 to December 2005 he held several positions with Dynatec Corporation, including Operations Manager and VP, Operations. Mr. Makuch holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (Honours Applied Earth Sciences) from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, and both a Masters of Science Degree in Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration from Queen´s University in Ontario.

 

Arnold Klassen
Director, Chair of Audit Committee

Mr. Klassen is a Chartered Accountant and Certified Public Accountant and has over 30 years’ of experience in accounting, audit and tax with 23 years of experience in the mining industry. Mr. Klassen is currently President of 2127301 Ontario Limited, a private consulting company, and prior to that was the Vice President of Finance for Dynatec Corporation from 1988 to 2007. Dynatec Corporation was a publicly traded TSX listed company from 1997 to 2007. He held a similar position with the Tonto Group of Companies from 1984 to 1998. Mr. Klassen holds a degree in Commerce from the University of British Columbia and spent seven years with KPMG prior to becoming Vice President of Finance with the Tonto Group of Companies.

 

Daniel G. Innes
Director, Chair of Environment and Safety Committee

Daniel Innes, past Chair, President and CEO of Lake Shore Gold Corp., has over 35 years experience in the mining industry. Mr. Innes is also a founding principal, past Director and VP Exploration of Southwestern Resources Corp. He has worked in a variety of metal environments in many parts of the world, mainly Brazil, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, USA, Canada, China, and Australia.

 

K. Sethu Raman
Director

Dr. Raman is a professional geologist with 35 years of international experience in all phases of exploration and development and has held senior executive positions in several public mining companies. Since 1986, Dr. Raman was President and CEO of Holmer Gold Mines Limited, which over the years discovered and developed the Timmins West Gold Property. On December 31, 2004, Lake Shore Gold Corp. acquired all of the issued shares of Holmer by way of plan of arrangement. Dr. Raman holds a PhD in geology from Carleton University, Ottawa and a UNESCO Post-Graduate Diploma from the University of Vienna, Austria.

 

Michael D. Winn
Director

Mr. Winn is currently President of Terrasearch Inc., a consulting company that provides analysis on mining and energy companies. Mr. Winn has worked in the oil and gas industry since 1983 and the mining industry since 1992. He completed graduate course work in accounting and finance and received a BSc in geology from the University of Southern California.

 

Roberto Dañino
Director

Mr. Dañino is currently Deputy Chairman of the Board of Hochschild Mining plc (“Hochschild”). He joined Hochschild in 1995, where he remained until 2001 when he left to serve in the Peruvian Government as Prime Minister and later as Peru´s Ambassador to the United States. He rejoined Hochschild in 2006, after serving as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of the World Bank Group and Secretary General of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). Previously, he was a partner of Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering in Washington DC and has worked for over 30 years throughout Latin America, the United States, and the United Kingdom, and was the founding General Counsel of the Inter-American Investment Corporation, the private sector arm of the Inter American Development Bank. He holds Law degrees from Harvard Law School and the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.

 

Ignacio Rosado
Director

Ignacio Rosado has been the Chief Financial Officer of the Group since 2005. Previously, he was Senior Engagement Manager for Latin America for McKinsey & Company from 2000 to 2005. Ignacio began his career in banking having worked for Banco Wiese Sudameris in Peru (1992-1994) and in Banco de Crédito del Peru. Mr. Rosado holds a MBA from the University of Michigan Business School and a BSc in Economics from the Universidad del Pacífico in Peru.

 

Jonathan Gill
Director

Mr. Gill is a Professional Engineer who brings more than 45 years of mining experience to the board of Lake Shore Gold, much of it working in senior mine management roles for Inco Limited in its Ontario and Manitoba divisions and for PT Inco in Indonesia. Since retiring in 2003, Mr. Gill has worked on a number of project assignments for Inco, both in Canada and at the Goro project in New Caledonia; as well as for other companies involving reviews of such projects as FNX Mining Company´s Sudbury operations, the Ambatovy nickel project in Madagascar and the Onca Puma project in Brazil. Mr. Gill is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario and is a former employer Chair of Ontario´s Mining Legislative Review Committee.

 

Ignacio Bustamante
Director

Mr. Bustamante is Chief Operating Officer of Hochschild Mining plc (“Hochschild”). He has worked for Hochschild and its affiliated companies since 1992. Prior to his current role, he served as the company´s General Manager of Peruvian operations. Between 1998 and 2003, Mr. Bustamante worked as Chief Financial Officer of Cementos Pacasmayo. Subsequently, he worked for Zemex Corporation, a subsidiary of Cementos Pacasmayo, based in Atlanta, Georgia, serving first as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Business Development and later as its President. Mr. Bustamante holds a BSc in Business and a BSc in Accounting from Universidad del Pacifico in Peru and an MBA from Stanford University.

 

Wayne J. O'Connor
Director

Mr. O´Connor joined Lake Shore Gold´s Board in November 2009 following completion of the Company´s business combination with West Timmins Mining Inc., where he served as Chairman. Mr. O´Connor was the President, CEO and a Director of Band-Ore Resources Ltd. for 15 years until its 2006 merger with Sydney Resource Corporation to form West Timmins Mining Inc.
Mr. O´Connor was directly involved in the 1994 discovery of the Caber copper-zinc deposit in Matagami, Quebec while President of Kingswood Explorations. In 1991 he began the acquisition of the 60 square kilometre Thorne property (subsequently part of West Timmins Mining´s West Timmins Gold Project and now part of Lake Shore Gold) which resulted in the discovery of the Golden River Zone in 1995 and the Thunder Creek Gold Zones in 2007.

 

Frank R. Hallam, B.B.A., C.A.
Director

Mr. Hallam joined Lake Shore Gold´s Board in November 2009 following completion of the Company´s business combination with West Timmins Mining Inc., where he was a director and Corporate Secretary. Mr. Hallam has extensive experience at the senior management level with several publicly listed resource companies. He currently serves as CFO of MAG Silver Corp and as a Director and CFO of Platinum Group Metals Ltd. Mr. Hallam was one of the original founders of New Millennium Metals Inc. and Sydney Resource Corp. He was previously an auditor with Coopers Lybrand, specializing in the mining industry. He is a Chartered Accountant and has a degree in Business Administration from Simon Fraser University.

 

Peter Crossgrove
Director

Mr. Crossgrove joined Lake Shore Gold´s Board in November 2009 following completion of the Company´s business combination with West Timmins Mining Inc., where he served as a director. Mr. Crossgrove is a Member of the Order of Canada. He is currently Chairman of Excellon Resources Inc. and Brush Creek Corp. He is former Chairman and founder of Masonite International Inc., a door manufacturing company. Masonite has operations in 14 countries, has 12,000 employees and annual sales in excess of US$2 billion. Mr. Crossgrove sits on various boards of directors including Barrick Gold, Quadra Logic Technologies, Pelangio Mines and Dundee Realty Corporation and previously served as CEO and Vice Chairman of Placer Dome Inc.
