Lake Shore Gold Corp. (TSX:LSG) is building a new, mid-tier gold producer with commercial production from the 100% owned Timmins Mine targeted for the fourth quarter of 2010. Processing of development ore and advanced exploration material is being done at the Company´s Bell Creek Mill, which has been refurbished to a capacity of 1,500 tonnes per day. The Company´s also carrying out advanced exploration programs at its 100% owned Bell Creek Complex and Thunder Creek properties and continues to invest aggressively on exploration with plans to spend approximately $29 million in 2010.
West Timmins Mining Transaction (link to overview of acquired assets) - On November 6, 2009, Lake Shore Gold acquired all the outstanding common shares of West Timmins Inc. As a result, the Company created the large-scale, wholly owned Timmins West Gold Mine Complex, covering 130 square kilometers on the western Timmins mining trend and containing the wholly owned Timmins Mine and Thunder Creek properties and a number of other highly prospective exploration targets.
